Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his first championship for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The Russian, a former world number one, has had a challenging season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in particular - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Now working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's first trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court since that period of that year.
Success also means Medvedev has secured 21 titles at 21 different competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my two daughters at once, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my child Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six finals, featuring in Halle in the past months.
His retrieving approach and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led some to wonder if his skill to compete at the elite level was finished.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and play aggressively, backed up by an enhanced service.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging opponent, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors traded breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden professional victory, gained dominance to force a final set.
Moutet saved four early opportunities in a tight final set before the champion won the break to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner secured the title with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
