Vehicles in Germany's City Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police State

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Police
Police reported they were alerted by a resident who noticed a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Around 50 cars have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.

Officers report they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.

The substance had been placed in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then found multiple other marked automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under laws outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Officials report early analysis indicate the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no indication as to where it came from; investigators are presently not aware of any physical harm in relation with the occurrence," they commented.

Municipal representatives said they were trying "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the public for details.

A high-ranking political figure said the vandalism made him stunned and had to be addressed promptly.

"This act affects the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on online, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a shooter targeting individuals of migrant background in 2020.
